Cain and Abel, the elder and younger brothers personify agriculture and cattle breeding activity. There are two steps in the development of mankind …. They symbolize two occupations, two people, two souls not yet fully materialized, and the first war at the dawn of mankind, and the first spilled blood …. The biblical text reflects the mechanics of two incompatible systems of behavior inherent in the birth of humanity. One of them is the Cain system and the Abel system is another….
In the eyes of the Creator, the Cain system is less successful than the Abel system. Abel is closer to the Creator, he understands and hears Him. But, Cain is older, he is stronger and he is jealous of his brother. Jealousy fogs the brain. Cain seems that the death of Abel will free a place near the Creator and give his attention. The resolution of the conflict between the two models of human behavior is reflected by the author through the symbolism of the images. Cain’s face has open eyes with a slightly disturbed gaze, looking deep into his own experiences. It is framed by bloody sunset flashes. The mechanism of his behavior with the iHebrew Hebrew – the traditional language of Judaism, the state language of Israel. name Cain is indicated on the clip where his heart will beat, intact and even handsome. Abel has the image of an infant that fell asleep forever in the arms of fate. The mechanism of his behavior is broken. The details along with the letters of the name “Abel” are scattered on the bottom of the picture and denote death.
The philosophical context of the picture is contained in the ambiguous reading of the faces of Cain and Abel. Perhaps, in this conflict, not only Cain is to blame. He reflects on what he has done. His brother Abel found a dialogue with the Creator, but did not find the way to his own brother. He is depicted as an infant. His soul is not ripe for realizing the harmony of the world. Cain’s face is the face of a mature young man. His in-depth look reveals the search for the Creator’s plan. He wants to understand and hear him otherwise he will kill not only his brother, but his own way of development.
The faces of Cain and Abel are the souls of two peoples developing according to the kabalistic concept of the world within their egoistic shells. These souls must ripen and leave the shells themselves for their dialogue with each other and with the Creator. Thus they will end the age-old bloody confrontation.
